Ayutthaya Province
 
The Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, also called as Ayutthaya, is one of the most glorious regions in Thailand situated between three rivers. Ayutthaya is considered as the most wonderful, mighty, cultural and prosperous city in Southeast Asia. UNESCO has declared Ayutthaya as a World Heritage Site. There are numerous popular Buddhist shrines, temples and monasteries in Ayutthaya. Prominent among these include Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, Wat Suwandararam Ratchaworawihan, Wat Suan Luang Sopsawan, Wat Phra Mahathat and Wat Ratburana. Another famous tourist destination is the Thai Boat Museum, which has a large and impressive collection of Thai and Chinese boats and liners made of teak. Suan Somdet is a public park that contains several archeological ruins and plant species that have reference in ancient Thai Literature. One of the most enthralling destinations of Ayutthaya is the Royal Palace or the Old Palace. Other places of interest in the region include the Diamond Fort, Chankasem, Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, Japanese village, Elephant Kraal Pavilion, Khun Phan House and Bang Pa-in Summer Palace. Information about the history of the province, arts and culture, traditions as well as the lifestyle of the locals can be obtained at the Ayutthaya Historical Study center, Ayutthaya Studies Institute and Ayutthaya Historical Park.
